The village of Braunston is famous for its canal junction between the Oxford Canal and the Grand Union Canal. A 10 minute walk from the lodges takes you to the Grand Union Canal towpath where there is a lovely walk down to the village past the Admiral Nelson pub, always a welcome stop for a drink and good food. The canalside walk will take you to the village via the picturesque marina. En route, you will pass Chandlers, the boat builders and fitters, souvenir shops and the historic Old Pump House which is now a mooring spot for the many narrow boats that visit Braunston.
The village has a shop which is open 7 days a week and an excellent butchers where you are able to buy a range of superb meats and deli products.

Braunston is also an excellent base for many near-by attractions including historical houses such as Althorp House and Castle Ashby; National Trust properties including Upton House and Stowe gardens; car and bike racing at Silverstone; horse racing at Towcester or a wide variety of shopping. There are also plenty of activities close by including cycling around the local reservoirs and canals or fishing in nearby lakes.
